Life Drawing
In this weeks life drawing session we tried a couple of new techniques, as well as the usual quick sketches and long pose. The first was blind drawing (which is basically drawing without looking at the paper only the model.) and the other was the slightly more obscure technique of drawing without line (basically making markings or smudges with your pencil instead of steady lines.)
They both sound like simple ideas, but I have found them both very useful in making my drawing more free and will defiantly being using these techniques more often. Its quite ironic really as these techniques in the session have turned out a lot better than the more conventional styles I tried with the long poses, thats why im going to use these much more loose styles to try and improve my over all drawing and style.
